Chris Matthews said concerning the I.R.S. scandal "It's just a couple of people, or one guy even, trying to find a way to get his job done quicker..." Only Chris could believe that delaying an organizations tax exempt status for years is a way to get a job done quicker. The I.R.S. and those guys who repair the potholes have a lot in common.

Detroit is defaulting on 2.5 billion dollars of debt and is asking creditors to take 10 cents on the dollar. I wouldn't have believed it, but there actually is an investment that's worse than green energy.

Ed Markey said concerning the deficit: "It's really not math, it's just arithmetic". I disagree. It's really about relationships and is reflected in the formula " a politician and our money are soon parted."

The White House defended the up to 100 million dollar cost for the First Families trip to Africa as "great bang for our buck." I guess that saying the buck stops here means 100 million of them.
